Siobhan O’Sullivan is very grateful of Eamonn Murphy of Maghera who introduced her to his neighbour Patrick O’Halloran.
In Patrick O’ Halloran’s home in Ballyvroughan Maghera, Siobhán O’ Sullivan, Eamonn Murphy and Patrick’s niece Josephine were on cuaird. It was a delightful evening as we sat around the open turf fire, with Patrick’s much loved cats lazily stretched on chairs.

He regaled us with stories of schooldays in Carrahan, life on the farm, making bargains at fairs, ploughing with horses and the meitheal that once gathered to do the turf and hay.
He remembers too the West Clare Railway and Sunday trips to Lahinch and how Quin Hall was where marraiges were made in the 1940’s.
