Know your Townland-Shandangan/An Seandaingean

This townland appears to be a smaller off-cut of the larger Shandangan East and West townlands, which are within the parish of Kilmurry. The smaller section within the parish of Quin has never had more than one family dwelling living there over the past 200 years. Records are scant as the townland name does not crop-up anywhere, presumably due to its tiny population. It is located at the south-eastern edge of the parish of Quin on the way to Kilmurry or Kilkishen, beyond Sadlier’s Cross Roads. It contains just four parcels of land.
