Memories of Dangan School by Marcella McMahon

Ann McNamara asked Marcella McMahon (nee McNamara) originally from Hazelwood Quin to write an article in 2014 on her memories of Dangan School. Marcella and her three sisters played Camogie with Clooney, which was the first Camogie club in County Clare. Clooney were the county Champions from 1934 to 1937. Marcella and her three sisters, Dokie, Eileen and Teresa, played on the Clare team who won the Munster Camogie Championship in 1944.  Clare were beaten by Dublin in the All Ireland Camogie semi-final at Inchicore later that year.

Marcella died in 2020 in her 101st year. May she rest in peace.
